Cashing in means adding money to your GCash wallet. Without a funded wallet, you cannot complete transactions. GCash offers many ways to fund your account — both online and over the counter.
Over-the-Counter Cash In (Most Popular)
Visit any of GCash's 140+ partner outlets — including 7-Eleven, SM Malls, Robinsons Department Stores, Puregold, and Alfamart. Tell the cashier you want to cash in to your GCash account, provide your GCash number, and hand over the cash. The first PHP 8,000 you cash in over the counter each month is free; amounts above that incur a 2% fee. Your free limit resets on the first day of each month.
Bank Transfer (Via Linked Bank)
GCash is partnered with over 40 Philippine banks. If you link your bank account to GCash, you can transfer funds directly within the app. Alternatively, use your bank's app or website with InstaPay (real-time) or PESONet. Bank-initiated cash-in fees typically range from PHP 5 to PHP 25 depending on your bank — BPI and UnionBank charge PHP 5 per transaction.
International Remittance
Filipinos abroad can send money directly into a GCash wallet using partners like Wise, Western Union, Remitly, and others. GCash does not charge a cash-in fee for incoming international remittances, making it an efficient way to receive funds from overseas.
Cash In via e-Wallet Partners
You can also transfer funds from certain partner e-wallets to your GCash account. Check the GCash app for the current list of supported partners under the Cash In section.
To avoid paying a GCash cash-in fee, use over-the-counter cash in within the free PHP 8,000 monthly limit or receive funds via international remittance.
Cash In Limits
Basic GCash accounts have lower wallet and transaction limits than Fully Verified accounts. To check your current limits, open the GCash app and tap Profile > Profile Limits. Completing full KYC verification significantly increases your monthly cash-in and wallet balance limits.
